Formal bridal sessions are a great way to get nice, elegant photos of you as a bride in that gorgeous wedding dress you so lovingly and painstakingly picked out.
These are ideally done aprx 4-6 weeks before the wedding. This is a bride’s last chance to try on her dress and make sure it fits correctly. This is especially useful if the dress has been altered or you are losing weight.
I typically do these in studio so as not to get the dress dirty. But they can be done on location, by request.
I love using a mixture of traditional and more formal backgrounds and sets with pops of color. Especially colors from your wedding. So if you are using purple or green as an accent color at your wedding, why not get some photos of you in your dress against that color backdrop. The white against the color can be quite beautiful and striking.
These is also a great opportunity to do your wedding day trial run with hair and makeup. This will let you know how long you should expect for that to take on your wedding day so you can plan accordingly. And if you’re like me, whenever someone does your makeup it always feels like way too much, you get to actually SEE the images before the wedding day so you can see that “yes that was perfect” or “no, I need to do less/more.”
